Looking after your wellbeing and performance in a sustainable way, benefits you and all who you lead, work with and serve - it is so important!
What is Professional Supervision?
Professional Supervision provides you, as a school leader or teacher, a place to explore your hopes, dreams and experiences, with us there to support you in this confidential and trusting space.
Here you can safely discuss your work, your values, fears, motivations, strengths, struggles, priorities and ways to keep doing your role in a sustainable and fulfilling way - all the while helping you to grow professionally and adapt as you move forward.
How do we work with you?
One on one Professional Supervision sessions are most common, with 2 to 3 sessions per term recommended (ie. one session every 3 to 4 weeks).
Group Professional Supervision sessions of up to 4 educators at a time can take place approximately every 3 to 4 weeks - or a group session can run alternately with one on one sessions.
Mentoring with new leaders or younger teaching staff - this will still be done in an exploratory and reflective manner but with more specific guidance offered as needed

More about Professional Supervision
Professional supervision is a common, well researched and regularly mandated practice in Health and Pastoral spheres. Professionals receiving Supervision in these areas, include Psychologists, Counsellors, Youth workers, Psychiatrists, Chaplains, Pastors, and Priests. All of these professionals work with a Supervisor as a necessary and valued part of their work. They engage in critical reflection on their professional practice, wellbeing and holding to ethical standards with the assistance of their supervisor. This is all with the intended purpose of benefitting both the practitioner as well as the “unseen other”, their own clients or people whom in turn lead and serve.
When used in Education, the term, Supervision, has often been associated with 'checking up' on staff or schools that are deemed to require greater scrutiny or accountability. This more negative notion is totally different from the supportive, educative and growth focussed practice utilised at Thriving Educators and in the Health and Pastoral spheres.
